Kim Kyung II

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm constantly being drawn to compassion and a heightened interest of those who suffer around the world for Christ's name...

...And yet those who I talk to about the reality of Christians being physically and mentally tortured are in somewhat of disbelief or do not desire to know about this reality. The ironic part about all this is the lack of connectedness in the Body of Christ towards their brothers and sisters in Christ that suffer around the world for His name... and yet, God calls his children to "remember those in chains."

Today, I wrote a letter to Kim Kyung II who is imprisoned for the name of Christ. I have not personally encountered what the physical torture is like in the Chinese prison system... I've only read of accounts. These accounts are only glimpses of what pain I could sympathize with. Needless to say, my spirit deeply sympathizes with the pain that people suffer for in Christ's name. Thankfully, Voice of the Martyrs has a on-line system that gives you the opportunity to encourage those who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ by writing them and their government officials that oversee them in the prison system.

No, I cannot run into the prison and take these Christians out physically, but what I can do is remember their sufferings for Christ and let them know that they are thought of through a letter that I can send to them personally through the mail.

These are just some of my thoughts and passions on the matter. I hope that you are compelled to respond to the calling of the Holy Spirit in what he would have you do regarding this reality of persecuted Christians.

You can read Kim Kyung II's information at: http://www.prisoneralert.com/pprofiles/vp_prisoner_157_profile.html
At this website you also can write prisoners and their officals just as I have done.

So inspired by your passion for the hurting part of the body of Christ. I was part of a group in high school called "Supporting Persecuted Christians." The ironic thing is that this is when I first heard of the Southern Sudanese. Then, during my senior year my family took in three Sudanese refugees--two girls and one boy. Amazing how God works.
And yes, I have looked at your friends' website but not thoroughly, I might now though. And I also look forward to getting "to know" you better.

Blessings,

Dana

Dana,

Yes, that is awesome about the 3 Sudanese refugees. The Sudanese people were the first strong tug on my heart. I have a compassion for a place that I've never been to... Sudan and more recently Papua New Guinea. I trust God that he has something in mind. It probably has to do with my future husband and I. God has plans bigger than our own. I too look forward to getting "to know" you better.

Britt,
How cool to hear from you. I MISS YOU too! Just so you know and can be praying... Brian and I are trusting in God with our relationship. We are together again, but with a radically different focus than before... on Christ and our individual relationships with Him. It's going to be a refining time for him and I in the coming months and year ahead. God is good to direct us where He has taken us thus far. Brian has joined the ministry at the new chruch service, "Resonate," and I have joined the worship team. Pray for Brian as he is taking 28 units this semester. Yikes!

So much to talk about...
but until then...
you are thought of...
and thanks for your prayers,
~Juls

Yeah, TOTALLY!

We want you to know that we have the same passion for the persecuted church. Check out persecution.com. The coolest thing is that the believers don't ask for freedom, they ask for more strength, courage and perseverance through the fire.

Pray for the nations! LOVE IT

Matt & Crystal,
So glad to hear that you share the same passion.

When I was told through a testimony through a Chinese imprisoned Christian that it is an honor to be persecuted for Christ, they would rather continue proclaiming the Gospel over asking for their freedom. What a burden to bare, which is why so heavily need out prayers for courage, strength, and love for those they come in contact with.
